Brasilito Conchal
We would reccomend this small chic ‘Boutiqy Hotel’ to anyone. We were only meant to stay one week but because of the warm hospitality we recieved we decided to stay for our whole trip. If you are looking for a clean, affordable, friendly, relaxed place to stay, with a cute swimming pool surrounded by an arrray of tropical fauna, with an intimate atmosphere, then Conchal offers all of this and more. Simon the owner who is British has extensive knowledge of the surrounding areas and of Costa Rica in general. Simon is only too pleased to assist you with advice, from taking a local bus to Nicaragua to Ziplining in the rain forest. The hotel also has a fabulous rancho area where there are hammocks, We loved sitting there after a meal in their lovley restaurant with a drink or two, watching wildlife ‘take its course’!! You can watch tree frogs and listen to the ‘howler monkey’
We have to mention ‘Rosa Marry’ (staff member) who ensured our coffee was ‘just so’, always with a warm smile, and nothing too much of a problem. We want her as our ’surrogate Mum’!!!
Conchal also has a restaurant, which you have to try, the food is beautifully cooked by Simons wife Hilda, If you do go be sure to try the ‘red snapper’ (biggest Billy ate!!) and Hildas Lobster which was cooked just right!!
If you go to Conchal beach, be sure to try one of Georges chicken kebabs or ‘icevicha’ (think how it is spelt ) he cooks fresh food on the beach daily on his ‘home made BBQ’ he can be found just on the right as you approach the beach with a small marquee ringing his bell and playing some great music! If you go there please mention Billy and Debbie, he was one of the most lovliest people we met in Costa Rica, and please give him a hug from us!! If you choose Conchal, you will not be dissapointed, we found when we were out on various trips we were always glad to ‘come home’ (conchal)
